Today the Wittenbergs gave me a tour around the city!
They took me out for lunch at Carmines, which is a really nice italian restaurant, where they have special family sized dishes that we all have to share.
The weather was fantastic, probably about 25 degrees celsius, but then really humid because the buildings keep in the heat. It was kind of like walking around in a sauna, Susan said.
We took the subway and ended up at Times Square, much for my joy! I'll get a better and more star-like picture - but here is one of the first shots of me at Times Square!
The we walked all the way to Rockerfeller square (which I know well from the show 30 rock, the christmas tree from home alone plus the ice rink). OH I know you wish it was you moster Gry! ;) At Rockerfeller center you can go to the top floor and see all over NY. Which is what we did :D And there I saw the classic picture viewing Central park from above and the rest of this enormous city. It really is huge! And like I said to the family, it is unbelievable to come to a city that is bigger, population-wise than my home country. It's hard to understand! The place is massssssssive, and I BET it will take me 2 years at least to know it inside out - if I ever do so :p
I was clever to bring my binoculars, so we could all see the Statue of Liberty properly.
Here is some of the amazement:
Doesn't it look like they're treating me well?
Rockerfeller square (where the ice rink is during the winter)
...Then we went to Central Park!! I haven't spotted the zoo yet with Melman, Alex, Gloria and Marty.. but there are days to come ;) However, I already saw some film spots from several known movies, we bumped into what looked like a famous runner and we passed an amusement/carnival area. Much more is to come, and tomorrow I'm definitely going back there!
As you have probably noticed, I'm summing up the details way faster than yesterday, and my writing is not as poetic. This was just to send some quick pictures out and empathize how much I' seeing in a short time! I feel like the city is calling me, so if you'll excuse me! X
